In Groot-Brittanni\u00eb bijvoorbeeld zijn rookmelders al sinds 1992 verplicht. Schotland is het eerste land waar alle woningen zelfs met rookmelders in een netwerk moeten worden uitgerust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Polen zullen rookmelders in eerste instantie pas vanaf 1 januari 2026 verplicht zijn voor commerci\u00eble gebouwen die geen brandalarmsysteem hebben. Flats hoeven pas in 2030 te worden uitgerust &#8211; met \u00e9\u00e9n detector per flat, net als in Frankrijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Duitsland wordt de bevolking met het initiatief &#8220;Rookmelders redden levens&#8221; al meer dan 20 jaar met succes voorgelicht over brandveiligheid. Tegenwoordig zijn rookmelders verplicht in alle slaapkamers, kinderkamers en gangen die als vluchtroute worden gebruikt.
